Lowry Hill is a Minneapolis, Minnesota neighborhood located in the Calhoun-Isles area. The Lowry Hill location was named after one of it’s first residents, a real estate mogul, a lawyer and also a businessman Thomas Lowry in the late nineteenth century.
The Lowry Hill neighborhood is near Interstate 394 towards the north and Interstate 94 towards the east. Towards the south is the West 22nd Street, Lakes of Isles Park road towards the southwest, Hennepin Avenue towards the southeastern, along with South Logan Avenue and South Morgan Avenue towards the West. With both the two districts divided by Hennepin Avenue, Lowry Hill lies northwestern of Lowry Hill East.

House styles
Prior to 1900, several homes in Lowry Hill were designed based on Victorian architecture. Other types, however, made appearances too though, including the Romanesque, English Tudor and Rambler style, Colonial and Prairie, Mediterranean and Richardson. Most of these residences were designed soon after the creation of the area as a favored residential area for many of the richest residents of Minneapolis. The appearance of Lowry Hill has persisted almost untouched for more than 100 years, although some of the massive homes constructed by original residents have been turned into condominiums.

Transportation in Lowry Hill
Lowry Hill is renowned for beautifully landscaped gardens. The location is wonderful for those open to a walking neighborhood. You will find neighborhood grocery stores, medical clinics, bars and restaurants are within walking distance. The Lowry Hill is sustainable neighborhood. The same errands are also possible by using a bicycle. This is a unique advantage of the location. The transit option is average in the area with good connectivity with public buses.
