The Quaint Farmer’s Market
Held from 4-7 PM on all Thursdays, The Farmer’s Market is small, but impressive to say the least. Located on a parking lot owned by the Gustavus Lutheran Church, across at 27th Avenue, vendors at the market greet visitors warmly. The church itself is a sight to behold. Among Audubon Park benefits, the Farmer’s Market sells the best quality organic fruits and vegetables, besides a huge array of fresh herbs like garlic, dill and basil. Most of the yards in this quiet neighborhood have large cherry trees.
Local Shops and a Park
You can find a number of second-hand shops selling clothes to anything else you need, and local restaurants like the Chimborazo Ecuadorian Restaurant, with outdoor seating. Audubon Park, after which the neighborhood is named, is a glorious green wonder, quite large with its recreation center and athletic field. The best part of it is that parts of it are hilly and wooded, great for a casual trek. The Northeast Middle School, an architectural feat in glass, has a good curriculum, and kids growing up in this community will have clear head starts in life.
